I would just try to heal that white part of background on the left.

Funny guy.
The "thingy" in the background which is shown between his hands is a bit distracting maybe.

Is this originally taken BW or you saturated it on PS? Would love to see the color version.
Anyway lucky for you to live in NY, I always enjoy a good street performance.

Loved the guy expression, very cool timing.

I'd like it more if he wasn't looking directly into the camera thereby giving it a more candid feel. Still a good capture.

Nice capture and tonalities!.....He seems to really enjoy the moment.
Two elements are more important for me....the hands and the face.
The "dome like" element distracts from the hand ( I would clone it out) and the elaborated back of the chair distracts a little from the face....maybe I would crop a little from the left and make some cloning of the distracting parts.
Also I would clone the bright spot on the right upper corner......But just my taste!
And some parts look a little overexposed in my monitor, nothing serious.
Again....glad to get to know the people of your country.

Courageous to go black & white with white shirt & hair with darker skin tones, i get that all the time in my country.. in black & white it makes it tougher to keep the focus on face & hands ( as Carlos mentioned, key to a portrait ) .. so well done there.
To get over the problem of distraction from chair & top left, definately need to be at lower contrast to keep the focus on the character... I would prefer to have the drum inside the frame. would change the compositional balance, which could be more effective.. but that would be a personal preference... I am sure u have given it enough thought...
Now maybe i should go to read the spicer stuff in the thread since i still have 5 min to spare

Well done....

The company I work for makes color and monitor calibration hardware and software (among other things), so my monitor is definitely correctly calibrated. If anyone is seeing over-exposed areas, your monitor is incorrectly calibrated.
